JAY-Z AND WILL SMITH SET TO PRODUCE FILMS TOGETHER

That remake of Annie starring Willow Smith? It now officially has the Jay-Z seal of approval. As rumored, Jay has joined Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith in a "filmventure," that is notably not being called a production company, to develop and produce Annie, and eventually other movies. 

The Smiths already have a production company, Overbrook Entertainment, and have already worked with Jay on a line of beauty products (Carol's Daughter) and the Broadway musical Fela!. Willow has been signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation since September. Though the press release announcing the partnership does not explicitly state whether the new Annie will use Jay-Z modified tracks, seems likely Hova will be doing a little something-something to the songs. Hopefully the production will start filming soon: With each passing day, Willow Smith can less plausibly sing about having a hard-knock life.
